The islands by car
Two large islands are reached by bridge, with nothing to pay: Krk and Pag. To the others a car goes by ferry. The fare depends on the season, and on the busiest lines arriving early matters more than the ticket.

By bridge: Krk and Pag
- Krk. The Krk bridge has been free since 15 June 2020. From Zagreb, leave the A6 at Oštrovica (€8.90) and drive down to the coast. In strong bura the bridge closes first to motorcycles, caravans and tall vans: see when the wind closes the road.
- Pag. From the A1 exit at Posedarje (€17.30 from Zagreb) the road crosses the Pag bridge, with no toll to pay. In the strongest bura it closes to all traffic, and the ferry from Prizna stops with it.
Car ferries
Jadrolinija runs the state car ferries, and Rapska plovidba the one to Rab. The fares below are one way, for a car up to 5 m long and 2 m high, with VAT and the port fee included; a longer or taller car, a camper and a caravan pay more. The season runs from 29 May to 27 September 2026 on most lines.

From the motorway: for the Split ferries, the Split exit and down to the city port; for Drvenik, the Ravča exit; for Makarska, Zagvozd and the Sveti Ilija tunnel; for Ploče and the Pelješac ferries, Karamatići; for Rab, Žuta Lokva, down to the coast at Senj and south to Stinica. Prizna and Brestova are on the coast road, away from any exit.
Booking and arriving
On the lines marked “yes” a car can be booked for one departure, on Jadrolinija's site or in its app, and the ticket is good for that departure only. Jadrolinija asks you to be at the port 30 minutes before it in winter and 60 in summer.
On the other lines the ticket is good for any departure that day, cars board in the order they arrive, and a ticket does not guarantee a place. In high season Jadrolinija advises arriving one to two hours early, and on some lines earlier still. Have the car's registration document with you when you buy; for a rental car whose number plate you do not know yet, the form takes the word RENTAL.
