About the road
The A3 runs 306 km from the Slovenian border at Bregana to the Serbian border at Bajakovo, along the old road from Zagreb to Belgrade. It runs across the plain of the Sava and has no tunnel on its whole length. Around Zagreb it is the city's bypass and is free. Tolls begin at Zagreb istok (Ivanja Reka) and end at Lipovac, the last exit before Serbia. The short stretch by the Slovenian border has a flat fee of its own, at Bregana.
The A5 crosses it at the Sredanci interchange, east of Slavonski Brod. To the north it leads to Đakovo and Osijek and over the Drava, on a bridge two and a half kilometres long, into Baranja. To the south it is a few kilometres to the Sava and the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina at Svilaj. Both motorways are on one price list.
The longest journey on this price list, Zagreb istok to Sudaraž, is 265 km and takes about 2 h 35 min without stops. A car pays €19.50 for it, which is €7.35 per 100 km.
